Don't think we've seen this one before. The yellow looks awfully bright in some of these pics. It seems to have had some work done, for sure. I ought to hate it because of the black interior and the awful toilet seat applique on the trunk lid. I don't remember Newports having all this much trim either. But despite it all I kind of like it.

I don't like the Flite Sweep deck lid the most on this car...Keep it on my '59 Imperial though

I am certain it is not a HP car, I like it to minus a few things. The final sale price is gonna determine weather this was a good deal or not. A few things to undo after the purchase

Terrible paint color on a nice vert! The toilet seat has got to go too!

When I saw the side molding just below the door handle my first thought was that they didn't originally come with that. But with closer inspection I'm wrong. That molding was in the brochure. You just don't see a whole lot of these cars - it seems most of the '70 Chryslers around are 300s and NYers.

Always learning something. Cant recall ever seen that style molding.

OK, now I'm into research mode and learned something else. He trimmed out this car as a Newport Custom. That had the wide molding high on the bodyside and the peak molding on the front fender tops. It also had a center applique on the rear bumper. Unfortunately you could not get a Newport Custom as a convertible. This one started life as a regular Newport, hence the paint-filled lower rocker and wheel opening moldings. So this is a 1 of none car.

The ad states it has factory air ride. Did Chrysler have that as an option???

I don't believe Newport's ever had factory air ride. I'm almost certain that the 1975 Imperial was the first year of factory air ride and they were available in 1976-1978 New Yorker's. I have factory air ride in my 1978 NY'er. I don't know of any other Mopar's prior to 1975 to have factory air ride.

Ugh, it has one of those accordion radiator hoses right on top. Why do people do that? Bothers me way more than seeing the vert with the top down and the windows up.

Absolutely ugly IMO. I guess the only good thing is no one can claim they can't see you coming, that yellow paint will sear your retina right out. I do like the hubcaps, however.

the body looks rather clean in the pics, could be solid. You should add a bulls horn trophy up front as a counterweight if you're gonna keep the spare tire look decklid.

That is the ugliest Newport I've ever seen....its the "Exner-ish" styling ques that makes it so repugnant.
