Saw this car/Ad yesterday. I thought I should post it here.... Being a 70 Polara with a white interior makes it VERY uncommon. This is only the 4th 1970 polara I have ever seen with a white interior.
Looks like it may be solid but no title and four grand?

Wow, nice. Who in their right mind would just abandon that? The guy must not have a full bag of marbles.

It looks like an early build car....with the upgraded interior. He's from Missouri, whaddya expect? :poke:

He looks 2k overpriced and unless you are in the same State he is, I don't agree on his lost title comments. If is was so easy, why did't he do that?

I completely agree Pete...... Getting a title here is not that easy. How do I prove it isn't stolen, or it is mine legally

Missouri has a process similar to Oklahoma. The process here is called Title 42, which is a mechanic's lien. You have possession 30 days or more, and send the paperwork in. It involves some work, but we have title agents in OK that do this for a fee, and makes things easier. A registered letter goes to the last known address of the registered owner. if that letter is undeliverable, you will get paperwork to take to a tag agent, and get title and registration at that time. Total process takes about six weeks here.

My response to the seller of the Polara would be the same - get the damn thing tagged and titled in YOUR name first, and we'll talk then. I don't touch ANYTHING without a title, unless that vehicle can be proven to have come from a non-title-state to start with. Oklahoma knows what states require what paperwork.

BTW, in ALL states that require a title, the CURRENTLY REGISTERED OWNER is the ONLY person that can apply for a so-called "lost title". A buyer of a vehicle can NOT do this.

Minus a title, this is a $1,000 parts car to me.

Has anyone done a bonded title before? Some states (AL, GA, NY etc) do not require titles for cars older than 10 yrs. I have bought some out of state cars with last registration and bill of sale, then FL will title the car-it depends on the state the car comes from. Florida cars require a title of some sort. Without registration there is a place in Tampa that will run VIN checks and with get a bill of sale you get a bonded title good for use in Florida. I use the company to run traces on cars without titles to see if they are stolen or salvage only etc. Doug
