With a 383 auto it will be a 8 3/4 with either 2.92 or 3.23 gears as a most probable.

Codes are, generally, listed alphabetical then numerical so since it comes before M85 we know its M25, wide sill molding.

Looks to be an interesting car tag wise - White body with light blue interior. There is a T in the VON - so could have been a Chrysler Direct Lease Car.

No 2,92 in 1970 Polaras.
Standart gear is 2,76 with 3,23 optional.
It will not be on the fender tag just on the broadcastsheet.

There were no axle packages available which could be found on the tag like seen for A-B-E-Bodies (A31-34, A36)

Hey guys. I'm from over on the ForBbodies forum and wanted to say hi and tell you I'm going over on Saturday to take a look at this car. I'm looking for parts for a Roadrunner that this car has, so I'm not much interested in the car as a whole.

The owner sent me a picture of the underside, and as I worried it looks like the car has been sitting in grass for a long time as it's pretty rusted under there. Also I'm guessing with the rear window trim gone and rust in the corners that the trunk and floor pans will be rough too. But I'm looking for powertrain parts, so if I get the car and any of you guys in FL or GA need body panels or interior parts let me know as you'll be welcome to them.

If I don't get it, I can post some more pics and an assessment for you if you're interested.

Might still have a tag ID'ing the axle ratio if no one one ever opened up the axle.

I gave up trusting tags after I passed on a rear with a 2.73 open tag on it for $50 and my co-worker bought it and it turned out to be a 3.23 SG. :(

I hate to break up cars, but this guy apparently has an open title and registering a car with one of those, assuming this isn't rusted out totally underneath, can be a PITA here.

I don't see the issue with a open title as long as it has been signed off on properly with no mistakes and it is notarized correctly (if required). In Indiana its not a problem since we don't require any other paperwork to be signed. Maybe a VIN check by a police officer if out of state title may be required.

I don't always title a vehicle in my name if I know Im not going to keep it.

I have also been able to acquire titles for cars that had been lost or just gone for years. All legally using the Indiana system in place at the BMV.

So the ad is gone, who got it? Will it be saved, derbied, or is its heart getting ripped out for another B-E body clone?

My '70 Newport, originally a 383 2bbl, came with a 2.76 open rear. I don't know that they used the 2.92 any more in 1970.
