Most of us wouldn't mind a piece of the Rockefeller fortune -- and you can own a portion of it in the form of a 1970 Imperial LeBaron Limousine that once belonged to Nelson J Rockefeller, former United States Vice President and Governor of New York.

It's big - an imposing 22 feet long - and black. It gives the impression that herein rides somebody who really is somebody!

It was Rockefeller's personal limousine during his last term as Governor of the State of New York. Imagine it rushing along Fifth Avenue, siren blaring and red lights flashing (they are still there and they still work) with an escort of burly cops on even burlier Harleys. Enough to get a New York cabbie to pull over - an achievement in itself.

Still $31,500.00 NZ for that limo?

It has a starting price $25,000.00 NZ he does have paperwork to support its history.. Id buy it cause it has working lights and sirens but Ive got no spare shed space no spare cash and a wife thats not gunna playball if I so much as suggest it!

I like that you can actually see through the glass. How much to ship it to Detroit?

it is rare but honestly I wouldn't call it nice.
Stretch Limos are to me always too long, the proportions of the car get out of line.
I would like to see it and take some pics but would not want to own one

I agree, but it's still the most beautiful limo IMO, and I'd like to own it just a little bit still :-D

EDIT: OK.. I lied.. I'd love to own it.. a LOT, but I fully agree on the proportions being messed up.. let's face it.. they are probably stretched to "somewhere near the limit" already :-D

Murry does have one.. But its in realy bad shape .. This one is awesome !!!

What a shame. Such a cool car in new Zealand. It couldn't get further away. Shipping would be astronomical. I can't even get a car shipped from Scranton, pa and have to fly there Thur..

I love it...but I have enough trouble trying to get my normal C bodies indoors as it is. That thing needs a hangar!

Interestingly it would be about $4000.00 NZD which is only $2700.00 USD now compare that to trucking my monaco and fury (same transporter -enclosed) from Tampa Fl to LA $2200 USD. For someone with the money wanting a rare car the exchange rate is very favorable.

Also given that kiwi folk have such a love for classic US cars and one of the most 'anal' rust, safety, and mechanical checks in the universe an overseas buyer could be rest assured of vehicle condition sight unseen!

The '64-'65 Ghia Limos had class. This looks more like an airport limo to me.

BTW, a Swedish company in Gothenburg made one like that out of a '71 New Yorker Sedan to our then President Kekkonen. That car had its roof raised by 4", too, to enable the rear seat passengers to keep their hats on. That car looked awful. Had the beautiful fuselage lines ruined.

Well I found a "hangar" to store her in.. raised the money and risked the "wrath" of the missus to get this beauty. I phoned the owner tonight with a big offer to be told... it went to a new owner today!!! :mad_6::rant::soapbox: dam and crap it no chance of "good luck hope you find another" as the previous owner suggested.. it would have gone with my cop bikes for a "motorcycle escort" I asked if he could put me in touch with new owner and what he sold for? he said it was all confidential??.

Maybe a celeb or a NZ gangsta bought it? maybe someone on here or Rockerfella's grandson brought it and is shipping her home?
If anyone knows pm me :eek:s_dancing2:P1020792.JPG
