If this wasn't all torn apart I'd be heading to San Diego.

This has Polara Dave's name written all over it. He will say something like he doesn't want a Monaco but this would be perfect for him. Send the cash and then the truck to pick it up.

Quite the machine this car is. Hopefully someone gets it done.

Dave

This car was offered to me a few weeks ago...before the 73 sold...hmm

Nice........Gator top.
A75...……... Monaco 500 Ornamentation Package …… ?

I swear this is a repeat a/o updated. You don't forget that color.

You are correct Stan. It was for sale fairly recently and was discussed a great deal here when it was a complete vehicle needing some restoration. Here is a link to a thread posted by Carsten that gives more of the history:

For Sale - 1970 Dodge Monaco 440 car, not mine

Actually, I believe it needed a complete restoration to be really nice, but could have been a good driver in the meantime. I know the owner that bought the car maybe a couple years ago now and he in turn decided that he had too many cars already (I know the feeling!) and decided to let it go to the current owner (Lee) probably back in May. My friend bought a ton of NOS stuff to restore it but life got in the way, so he let it go to Lee, who probably concluded it is best to avoid a complete restoration as well, as he also has a lot on his plate. Lee also does restorations, but this is likely one of those cars that you can't get your money out of even with all the NOS parts if restored.

I have a virtually identical Monaco, same color but no gator grain top (mine is white) and almost identical options, except mine does not have auto temp, like this one does as mine is the more desirable manual a/c system. A lot of those NOS parts came from me for that car. It is a very good candidate for a full restoration though if you really love these models.

As for Dave, if I have him pegged correctly, he does not generally buy these types of cars and prefers his to be excellent originals that need very little work to be good show cars and drivers. He doesn't generally take on these kinds of big projects. I believe Dave has a healthy balance in terms of his buying habits and making good judgments from a financial and time standpoint that is essential when you have large family and a business to run. But I could be wrong.

All I am pretty sure about Wyatt, is that it would take a lot of time and money to get it to where it needs to be at this point. And he has a family to consider too. But I would love to see him have it if the resources and time are available.

Then we would have twins! Then we would need to find you a black 71 300 too!

I have a 73 Polara sized void to fill....

I have some nice used parts and a few NOS pieces available if someone does buy it.

I agree with Steve, you might still be upside down with a resto but this one is worthwhile. It looks to be very solid and the results would be stunning. Too bad there aren't more cars like this around.

1970 Monaco 500. By now everyone has seen it. No love for it from anyone wanting to buy it so in a week or so it gets offered up for parts. Last chance to buy it whole for $3500
I will get quite a bit more in parts but would be a shame.

Update: Looks like it's going to get parted out soon. What a shame that would be.

I hate the threats. Facebook IS NOT the place to sell a car to anyone who knows what it is.

Christ, are they everywhere or on just the coasts?

I'd drive it as is ... well, reassembled that is

Let him .... he's using it as a selling tactic . Then he's gotta ship a bunch of parts. I'm in for 1800. . .maybe
