This car has been for sale for a very long time and is heavily rotted.

It needs more love than I could give it...

It's on life support, love won't help

Love= blood, sweat, tears, more blood, thousands of tiny annoying cuts and metal splinters, a welder's sun tan, days of seeing spots because you though you could get away without the helmet for just one tack, bleeding again, the never ending search for parts, why does everything cost so much, splatter burns on your arms and every piece of clothing that ever got near the car, blood again, total isolation from friends who actually have a life still, almost ready for this to be a really good parts car as you realize you invested $10 for every $1 of resale value, one good final cut as you push it out of the way for the next project.

Wow, spot on. Preach man, PREACH!

And what did it get you? A project pushed to the side because of another. I've been down that road, you're welcome to go down the same or similar road. I've learned a few things as I traveled and I have taken the first exit.... I'm done with that

Understood. I don't want or require perfection... I would be too afraid to enjoy it. All big projects seem to take 10x what you initially plan for... once its apart, its hard to put back together until its "perfect". I want my entry dollars to be low enough I can afford the inevitable repairs and afford to spend some of my time enjoying it. I could also enjoy a metalwork project, but not to fulfill the desire for a cruiser. Like most people I am one giant F#$kup away from broke, and I am doing better than many I know. I want a reasonably priced car that appeals to ME, even better if nobody else wants it. I don't ever intend to need this car, or have to worry about it losing value as I drive it.

So why would you take on this project? This is at best a parts car. It is safe to presume it needs most of its lower metal replaced, a driveline rebuild/ replacement and a full interior. Only if it were a GT would it get some attention for restoration and even then, questionable for restoration.

Come on Mr. Polara Dave... pay attention... we started off in agreement about this car, and we still are.:sSig_thanks:

And again I ask, where does this apply here

My apologies Dave...it was a general statement and a perspective of the old car/restoration hobby in general... perhaps you didn't pick up on the sarcastic tone of my voice...
