I finally got out the "Cop Car" last weekend for a show in Appleton WI. All checked out fine and as promised these photos would be taken, put out for all to scrutinize. A short history: purchased the car from Washinton State 16 years ago (where it worked). It was rebuilt mechanically but had a slight RF accident. It was media blasted and made into a clean top unmarked (was a marked car). All equipment is period correct and works. There was comments made about being a non "K" code vin but that is what WSP did then. They ordered a fancier car and individually ordered the police options. The car had documentation from Chrysler showing it was sold to WSP and a build sheet that was decoded by Galen Govier.

P.S. If anyone knows of how I can get any info from WSP on the car or drivers, let me know. So far at a dead end.

Nice cop car!

If your camera has a macro setting....click it or program it when taking close up pictures and it will come out crystal clear.

Nice Pete, tallzag productions may be able to help. He was into the WSP cars.

Appleton, Rick Campbell is from that neck of the woods, correct?

I beleive I met Tallzag years ago when my car was mostly finished. He came thru here on the way back to Washington in a '72 WSP Polara in gold. That year Supervisors got gold colored cars. I don't think I ever met Rick Campbell or for sure last weekend in Appleton.

Rick Campbell of Campbell collectibles, he did the Mopar Nationals 1/18 diecast cars for years.....

Yeah, thats him, great guy. He was of no help? He knows quite a bit for a younger guy

it looks nice.
But it does have black wheels with dog dish caps. These should be white on a 1970 model. Or were those repainted from the WSP?

Carsten

Thanks Stan, I was afraid to ask by myself. :)

Outstanding work!! Thanks for posting the photo's, it gives me incentive to keep working on my project,(where did you find those inboard lights?) In the book Dodge, Plymouth, Chrysler Police Cars 1979-1994 is the contact info. for the W.S.P. Washington State Patrol Headquarters, P.O. box 42601 Olympia, WA. 98504-2601. Phone# 206-753-6545. Fax# 206-664-0663. Check out WWW.statetrooperplates.com they have some old photo's there. Is the Gold "72" Polara still around? I'd like to see some detailed photo's of that car. Thanks again.

I almost forgot, the decal on the drivers side jamb, is that the letter P or D ? I have a 1972 W.S.P. car unit D515.

You are correct on the wheel color but the body man had them painted already.......i go back and forth when to change them back to white. The car should have full size hubcaps but I prefered the Stainless dog dish.

Ask Tallzag where his '72 Polara went to, I don't know.

The number is "P845" I tried calling and emails years ago and basicly got no where on the cars history. Then they did not log who drove what car etc.

That is for when a Officer came upon a person during the night that ran out of Gasoline, They would have a empty can in the trunk and give them a gallon. Remember when gas stations closed at 5 or 6 pm?
Get out of here!!! Really!
So, was it connected to the cop car's fuel pump wth like a tee fitting and a valve or something?
