1970 Plymouth Sport Fury GT
FK3 Burnt Orange ‘70 Plymouth Sport Fury GT is up for sale. I drove this all the way from Amarillo, Texas to Los Angeles six years ago. The car ran and drove up until I decided to pull the steering box, steering column, and dash during the pandemic. Due to the arrival of a second child and being too busy with my business, I never found time to put them back in. The steering box was rebuilt and is ready to go back in. I have a new dash pad as you can see in the pictures. New white strobe stripes ready to install. All new correct interior fabric, headliner, carpet, and vinyl top by SMS ready to install. Still waiting on them to send the door panels. New correct dual exhaust ready to install. New repro exhaust hangers ready to install. I had the original radiator redone by Glen-Ray and it’s in the car. Car has factory AC. Original matching numbers engine and trans. Car was repainted by previous owner. Original FK3 Burnt Orange paint is still in engine bay, trunk, and door jambs. This is a Texas car and floors are rock solid. Trunk floor does have some pin holes and will need some love. Has good washer bottle. Comes with some extra correct Goodyear H70-15 tires for show only. Wheels are original and include all correct center caps. Many other parts included I’m sure I’m forgetting. Want $35,000, but will listen to offers. DM me or call me at [hidden information]. Car has been stored inside the entire time I’ve owned it. Located in Los Angeles. I remember seeing this car back when it was FS in TX on CL, presumably when Eric bought it.
IIRC it was around $4-5000 and the seller didn't advertise it as a GT, just as a 440 car.
I remember thinking it surely had to be a GT, but it was too far away for me to make the gamble on.
Should've swiped a credit card and had it shipped. (although I think that about 2-3 cars per year).

$35k doesn't give me near heart attacks anymore.
Have I been brainwashed or enlightened?
You've been desensitized.

Yes you are correct....I think it was $4500? I looked at it in like 2014 or 2015 when I was driving from DFW to Santa Fe it had been the lady's Grandmothers car. It didn't start because it needed a battery and they didn't even want to spend the money to buy a battery for it. Fairly rust free car but repainted the wrong shade and I remember the incorrect vinyl top it had.
$35k seems optimistic imo.

To clarify - I'm not saying the selling price back then correlates to nowadays at all. Just that it was a long time ago.

@gts95
IIRC it also might've had velour seatcovers?
You have reminded me that there was something simple about the car not running.
I should've gambled and swooped in on this car back then.
It was originally FK3 (based on Eric's info) so it would have been a good replacement for the Great Pumpkin that I used to own, this one:
