Not mine: 1970 DODGE POLARA 500

It looks like a pretty basic car -- it has AC vents but (see the engine bay) it has 2-speed wipers and no power brakes.

AFAICT, this four-door hardtop was for sale in OK City 2 years ago for $3.2k. It has since has been cleaned up and repainted:

You spoke too fast
That would be the first thing I'd change back. An easy fix, yes, but to an unsuspecting buyer it could be a nasty surprise. I do prefer the '69 front end, but at the same time would never take a '70 and convert it. My vert came with a '69 nose, those were the first parts to be sold off even before I have the '70 parts to replace it. Question is, is it still a 5K car?

NO

Whatever someone will pay. It suggests to me it's been hit .

I'd give him 500 and unfrankenstein it

We've seen it before a few years ago. . . Maybe Stanley, but I don't see near the asking, I hope so though

Assuming it's been "hit" to what extent does that devalue it? Just curious. If its been repaired and structurally and functionally sound, is it worth a certain amount based on being a near 50 year old car that has been wrecked and redone?

Theres a reason Car fax exists these days. A car that has been hit is less valuable than one that hasnt.

Seems like a reasonable assumption. I would venture to guess that the whole stub was replaced, making it harder to detect. Structually sound still leaves the larger task of sourcing, installing and then refinishing decent 1970 parts. With the inadequate description, I would ask the seller if they have the correct ‘70 front clip, if not then no more than $1500, but to someone that just wants a cool driver for the summer and knows what they are getting, I’d go as far as $2500, just don’t expect to get your money back in the fall.

I don't know if the guy who put a 75 Imperial nose on a 76 Chrysler T&C is committing the same sin or not.
