Price of admission is nuts.
But maybe not too far off if THIS is the one...

That is a very nice Polara. I'm not kissing up........... but I think Dave's is nicer. I seen Dave's ragtop in person. Mark, it's probably outside of your budget but I don't think you're going to find one anywhere as nice as this one. I think the R/T badge looks like it belongs on the grill. It needs one on the rear too.

His is not as customized as this one, is it? I've seen his only from afar at Carlisle this past July.

I agree that it is a very nice car. But at that price, I'm going to nitpick:

Why would someone in the desert order a convertible with a black interior?

All the stuck-on badges, gauges and other assorted crap needs to go. So do all the window stickers.

The colors do nothing for me.

The tires need to go and be replaced with whitewalls.

It needs black heater hoses under the hood. At least he didn't replace a lot of the stick pieces with crappy catalog aftermarket chrome bits.

That's all I got. :)

Boy, did I pick a good time to log back on and check in......Dave and I have discussed this car several times.

It is originally from Ohio, the owner first started selling it for 60K (no kidding), then he moved to AZ, IMO it is still overpriced, I think it's worth abt half of what he wants. if it was priced correctly the Finns would have bought it, they are very good at finding deals.

I have seen Dave's car as well, he took a pic of it in my driveway with my 2 Polaras in July, perhaps he will post one. Dave's car is a survivor in every sense of the word.

AND btw, I can get this car for 15K right now, it is sort of for sale:

the red car has been modified, yes, and it has a 440 in it right now. Looks like a much better deal to me.

and for the record, both of these rags are above my price range..........and neither one has my fen mtds!

These H70x15 Polyglas tires would make some 300 Hurst or Sport Fury GT trailer queen happy.:)

Wow, and in Las Vegas no less. Their economy was rocked by the housing crash. Lots of empty homes and those left are under water. He definitely needs a wider field to market. Love the name Auto "Boutique". Want to look upscale then put "Boutique" at the end of your name and feel free to charge 50-100% more than a similar business.

Paint loss around the drivers door in the close up of the door handle, not a big deal but you'd think a "Boutique" would have sent this over to the paint department for some touch-up. Wouldn't be hard to fill those little paint losses especially that color. What's up with the carpet? I can see unfinished edges all around the hump. Why would you photograph that? Color doesn't do anything for me either but at least it's an original and not green! Car looks to be in decent condition but knowing it's from Ohio makes me want to see the bottom. Black valve covers, pink heater hoses, Blah. I would lose all the extra emblems, they don't belong.

All the aftermarket stuff has been there for years. The original owner put that stuff there and he likes it. Every panel and drop of paint is supposed to be original as is the top and interior. Low opted with a 440 he bought it to go fast .

I like it but picked it apart six years ago for all the negatives already mentioned.

Mark is correct in EVERYTHING he said.

Its been for sale for two years at 24,9 so obviously not that.

I think Mark is correct at half of asking @ 12,5. In contrast I paid ten-five for mine with 47,800 miles, 383-2 and half a tag of options. However being original fk5 paint I would have gone $20,000. Obviously that would have been out of passion not common sense.

Dave, you're talking about the vert? How long ago did you buy it?

Eight years ago this July past

If I remember correctly, you bought it at Carlisle?

Hey, wait a minute..........you and Stan were going to tell us the story of your cars months ago.....I'm still waiting guys.

I believe most of the regulars here would enjoy hearing your history on the extraordinary Polara's you have. Stan's story on his Formal's. We all should tell the story about our cars.
