It may not be as bad as you think....The photo by the data plate shows a battery tray that is rusted. The floor pan rust is not that uncommon for cars with a rubber floor mat. The addistional rust is probably coming from the windshield gasket channel. The trunk floor really does not look that bad, and remember the starting price. I wish my '70 Fury III Pursuit had the oil gauge.

A T code cop car? I would have thought it would be the U code that was selected for fleet use...

Guys, let's put the "Interceptor" term away. It is a trademarked FORD term that applies to their Police Interceptor option package. Chrysler cop cars were known as "Police Patrol" or "Police Pursuit" option packages.

Excellent point, I thought I was the only one that bothered so I accept it and move on

pete, you are right, the rust is not too much. During the next days I will report from my Flintstone conv., there was plenty of rust and missing panels...

It should be saved indeed, but it IS rusty..and what about all the rust you can't see, probably even worse. However because of the "pedigree" it should (I hope) be saved by someone who digs mopar cop cars.

Mopar had seven engine options for police cars in 1971. Police departments could tailer order a car for thier specific needs.

it should be saved for sure.
And if it is just bought so that it isn't going to die

Carsten

You could get anything from a 225 to a 440 in a cop car back then...hence, the Patrol and Pursuit option packages.
