It's a 1970. Seems to have the standard cloth bench seat up front. It needs work, but is definitely worth saving. It's one of fifteen surviving 1970 NYer Coupes worldwide, that I know of.

I just checked my notes. I know of fifteen, and I mean only 1970 New Yorkers. They are rare.

I was thinking more about the guy who crossed the border every day in a scooter with the back cubby filled with sand. Border agents inspect him thoroughly for a few weeks and give up finding anything. Finally one asks him, with promise not to turn him in, to secretly tell him what he's smuggling. To which the guy replies 'scooters'.

How many total made?

4.917 New Yorker Coupes (CH23) made in 1970. One would assume that at least five percent of them would have survived. That would be 245. I know of only fifteen, which of course does not mean that it is the true total number. My guesstimate is that some 35 are still lurking out there, somewhere in USA.
