Nope, "over the hump" mats are aftermarket. Rubbermaid and other companies made them. It is a really good match colour-wise.

Mats were even made of clear vinyl back in the day. It's likely these are the clear versions.

You could be right, it's hard to tell from the pictures but they could've been clear, and after fifty years they're now yellow.

Yep. And the color they would turn to is a close match to the carpet, so that is a plus in this case!
