This 1971 Dodge Polara Brougham is one of three 2 door hardtops currently for sale! Amazing, except none of the three is in good shape. This one is for sale in SD. I can't tell the color -- probably GF3, but it could be GJ4. From the seller:

"Clear Title (...) 383 V8/Automatic, A/C.

Might Run. Radiator, water pump are in the trunk.

Very Good Floors, and trunk. Good Body, minor rust out on quarter panels, a couple of spots above windshield, etc. Had a vinyl top.

Good glass except for windshield.

Interior 95% complete. Org. seats, in fair shape. Not all moused up. Dash is rough, paint has flaked off.

The original hub caps are in the back seat area. But, I could not get them to fit on these wheels. (...)

Interior for records. Not seen many pics on the site of Brougham interiors. This one looks like M3F7. The rim blow wheel is original. the speaker in the door is not...

I really like the tail lights. Are they year specific?

A big part of why I prefer 71 over any other year.

I despise that Brougham cloth interior. Who wouldn't have opted for vinyl buckets? The 71 high backs are amongst the most comfortable there is .

The buckets that were optional on the Polara Brougham (M6)/Monaco(H6) are indeed good seats, but thought to me some are more comfortable -- for example, the buckets in the 1972-1973 NYB.

This Polara has a split bench, not those optional buckets. The interior is cloth-and-vinyl (M3F7) rather than M4F7 (all-vinyl) as seen by comparing the patterns in these two pictures -- the first is from the seller, the color and trim book scan comes from the always helpful Hamtramck Library, to which one can make a donation:

"not all moused up", there you go, man must speak from experience.

Too much green. I'd have to change the whole interior to black or white. As noted the whole dash is roached.

Black vinyl top and color of choice on the body beside green or white. Too involved already, I cant.

The instrument panel is quite peppered, I reckon....
Might be just the plastic bit that covers all of that. The gauges/clear plastic seem to look ok. Were this mine, I'd just strip the remainder of the original finish off, paint the whole thing matte black, and use a silver paint marker to finish out the trim around everything, along with any embossed/raised lettering. For a non-resto, that works well. Toss a carpeted dash cover on the roached pad. Since a restoration of that steering wheel runs nearly $1,800 these days, I'd replace that trashed wheel with a Grant wheel (or similar). Replace the door panels with those offered for sale above. I'd go with a black, white or dark green seat fabric and green replacement carpet, and probably a green or white top.

Does anyone know if 1971 cars had body-colored wheels (if full wheel covers were not specified/ordered), or was '71 the first year of black wheels on everything, regardless of whether cop caps or wheel covers were ordered? Just curious.

If you had access to a pile of 71 parts...this car could be easily made into a scruffy driver.

If anyone buys this, I have almost everything to make it presentableish.

I would be tempted if it was closer. I have been waiting for one for years.

However, that dealer has several interesting cars.
