I replaced the valve seals on my 1972 Fury 360 V-8. Before reinstalling the rocker shaft, I thought it was a good idea to clean out the shaft, so I knocked the end plugs out of each end of the right side shaft and cleaned it out with brake cleaner and an engine brush.

I measured the end caps at about 5/8 inch in diameter, maybe slightly less. I found Mopar Performance P5249633 end caps, but they don’t give any specifications and I have to order by mail. Does anyone know what the correct diameter is for these end caps and whether NAPA, AutoZone, or Advance auto parts stocks them? Thanks

I haven't taken them anywhere yet. At least in my area, auto parts store people have minimal knowledge, and I have to help them figure things out. I thought if I knew the size in advance, it would be easier.

I will probably try to take the plugs over to the store anyway and hope for the best

I think the plugs are a little "beefier" and deeper than any of the standard freeze plugs that may or may not fit.

I'd play it safe and buy the MP plugs.

Thanks 65Sporty & Big John. Went to Advance: Andrew was knowledgeable and took me right to the 5/8 deep well plugs. 4 cost me $3.33 total. Made in USA, nice
