Not a real collectible unless the plaque makes it special. Does it?

Picked up as a project but no longer have the time or space. It is a very solidsolid/straight car, the motor is a big block 400 and i have gotten it turned over. The interior is emmaculate. Im asking $1500 as a starting price but it is negotable.
I have the tittle for it and the death certificate from the owner signed so it is able to be put in another name. (It was a 2 owner car)

From what I can see.....Nice car ......nice price.

Could of removed the trash and cleaned it up a little.

But what about the plaque? From the factory? Some dealer cheese on top? Self-promotion by one of the owners?

Not a factory plate but could of been a dealer plate. Dealer's did a lot things to make the buyer feel special back in the day.

Newp's Newport had something special in his back window from the dealer in Chicago.

Very impressive options for a Newport.............looks to be loaded - literally.

I remember a few high Price semi custom cars coming with such a Plaque shipped from the factory and being engrave and applied by the dealer, the first Buick Skylark I think and who of you guys remember These 56-57 Chevy based custom Jobs made to look like the recent Cadillac that was named El Morocco ?

Dealers often put these in cars to help keep that "good feeling" between the dealership and owner. Two of the four 1966 Dodge Coronet Deluxe four-door Hemi cars have a nearly identical plaque on the dash, from the dealership in Wichita that sold the cars new - the white car in Garlits' collection, and the red '66 HEMI Coronet four-door.

A lot those popular mail order houses back then used to offer those. Cheap Father's Day type present or just a little trinket to personalize your car. People would order it along with some lawn darts for the kids and a personal vibrating massager for Mom.

Yeah, so... back the car (and why is Commando's wife looking at "earnings"???). That looks like one hell of a nice car for $1500. Penn state, would anyone want to speculate on the amount of rust I'm not seeing? Because if that was a thousand miles closer to me I think I might just be plunking down some cash. My son needs a car in a few years, you know.
