Does anybody know if that stripe was an option from the factory or an add on? Is there a specific spot on a data or fender plate to locate this?

Looking at the '72 option codes, I see the vinyl roof code (Black = V4X) and what is termed the "hood performance treatment" and "deck performance treatment" which are codes V21 and V25, respectively. Check those and see if they are on the fender tag. The color for that stripe (looks black to me) is V9X. Interesting to see a stripe on a vinyl top car like that. Is this yours?

Yup this is my fury that's waiting on the 451 that's at the machine shop. Its dusty but your correct the stripes are black. Its probably aftermarket but I'll check the plate and see.

Never heard of it.

Stripe looks tastefully done, I like it.

On a Fury? PLEASE look harder and tell me EXACTLY what those would be....

I just did. V21 = Hood Performance Treatment V25 = Deck Performance Treatment. This is the code for 1972 - 1974. I don't care if you believe me or not, frankly, I'm simply providing the information and the codes. You have to remember, the same codes apply to A, B, C, and E bodies, depending on the year involved.

You have different information??? By all means, feel free to share this, rather than simply dismissing my information because you choose not to believe it.
