Seems to be in good shape and is an all original California car.

Does that last sentence make him sound like he bought it to flip it?

1973 Chrysler Imperial LeBaron 4-door

Good car. Runs, drives, stops as it should.

New tires, radiator, battery, thermostat, water pump, full brake job (brakes are a delight on this car), rebuilt transmission, rebuilt idler arm ($250, yikes!).

All windows and accessories work great, including radio and gauges.

Car has headlight sentinel and auto-beam dipper features

Engine is strong.
The valve guide seals (made of rubber) have hardened and allow a drip of oil past them when the car sits. This means that the engine emits a puff of white smoke when cold. Puff goes away and engine runs great otherwise.

The front end has rubber parts in it that are nearing the end of their service life. Steering is delightful on this car but would be even better if the front end were rebuilt with new bushings, but that is a want and not a need at the moment.

The driver side wing window does not close completely.
I have a metal gear to replace what I think is a stripped plastic one.

The heat and AC don't work. The controller box from the factory was defective in design on all of these cars and on the Mercedes Benz cars that Chrysler sold the unit to MBZ. There is an $800 reproduction available. I would put a manual hot water valve on and run a switch with 12v on it to the compressor - all for less than $50.00 if you don't need the Auto Temp II to function.

The front bumper nacelle around the turn signal has a ding in it. Sale of car includes good replacement nacelle.

Call to see the car.
It is named Imperial Margarine.

Some people take a step back when they first see the color, and I did too. How about something nice in silver, black, red, or blue? SCREW THAT. You see that on every single car on our modern freeway. This car's Sunburst Yellow is a period correct (and original paint) color that is DIFFERENT. This is a color and a car that says you're important and different. Stop trying to make a vintage car blend in! Stand out and be proud.

People have commented that the car has presence that isn't obvious in photos. I agree.
I didn't originally want it before I went to see it, but there's a lot more going on here than meets the eye. Come see it. Worth the time.

You can find a lot nicer, lower mileage examples of those cars for less money these days, as people try to unload them. I would have a lot more interest in the 60 Imperial in the background - it even looks like it might be a two door.

This car is owned by a member of the Online Imperial Club, read more about this car:Kenyon Wills' 1973 (Chrysler) Imperial LeBaron. The '60 in the background is a LeBaron (notice the small rear window).

I believe it's safe to say he's not a flipper, then.
Well, I'm not sure if he is a flipper or whether he just likes to buy and sell Imperials, in any case he seems to have owned this particular car for quite some time.
