I am working on a restoration of a 1973 Dodge Polara Spring Special .it's a 2dr.I am addressing the interior.I got the correct fabric insert material from SMS to redo the seats. No problem there..My question concerns the headliner .This was a southern car and the original headliner must have gotten baked so that owner replaced it with a vinyl headliner which is wrong and looks ugly.I want to replace it with the correct fabric material.I have checked with SMS and don't see the correct material used on these cars..I see vinyl material and a perforated hole pattern but not the weaved soft cloth material.I really don't have any material to send them since the old headliner is gone so they can't match it.Any suggestions before I call them directly?Has anybody had any luck with other sources?

Might do other online looks for Chrysler Corp headliners. Then drill down to a 1970s-era full-size Dodge 2dr ht. If the company seems to have some, ask for a sample swatch in the color your need to match the seats, if their online catalog does not have any images.

SMS might be a premier supplier, but it is not the ONLY supplier of upholstery fabrics. But if you are going for a concours restoration, SMS can be somewhere to look, obviously.

Just some thoughts,
