Does anyone need this 1973 Monaco for parts? EW1 white with R4Y4 vinyl interior and V1Y gold vinyl top. Sharp car, the reverse color combo of Medina, my 1971 Monaco 2dr.

This DP23 has been hit on the side/rear and critters have gotten inside, but I see enough good parts to make it worth it -- at least to someone local. @Megawattkid perhaps? I'd love to get a pic of the tag.

"critters have gotten in". Is that what happened. Holy crap. Well, holy rat crap. Looks like a city of rats got in.

Lots of good parts their. Topeka is 10 hours plus from where I am.
If it were a little closer I'd pick it up just to help save it.
I will inquire still.

I find the 70 stamp that is after the END to be interesting.

DP23M3D17110 has lots of power toys: P21 (front bench), P31 (windows), P41 (door locks), P45 (trunk release). Rare to see them all on a Dodge (even on a Monaco), with P41 the rarest of all AFAIK.

Thanks 69coronetRT for the comparison's.

So the 70 is a specific inspector that stamped the tag when it was still half screwed on the car.
I see the diagonal bend on lots of ebodies from the hamtramck plant but I do not visually see the diagonal bend on any of these tags. I'm sure it's only conjecture, but it appears that these tags were stamped before they were screwed onto the car.

That may well be the best equipped 73 Monaco two door model I have ever seen - besides all the goodies you mentioned, it also has the AM/FM Multiplex Stereo Radio and tilt steering wheel plus even the cornering lights. Before it had been wrecked, I would have tried very hard to buy it.

Yes.

To me, it is nothing short of amazing that in an industry that needs, wants and promote conformity and 'sameness' across the the plants and processes, each plant was allowed to do pretty much whatever they wanted to do with fender tags. There is some conformity among the plants, but each plant has its own nuances and characteristics on what they did, how they did it and when they did it. Each plant is different, each year is different, even which month you are talking about can be different.

That is definitely something that baffles me. Doesn't seem to be any conformity.
Nor are there any documents that explain how and what was to happen in the plants.
All that being company specific and probably well guarded secrets.

I don't think it really mattered at the time. I got into watching this guy on 70 chevelles just because of the level of detail he gets into and there is a bunch of differences across the plants.
They did the hood stripes differently for who knows why. Amongst many others. But thats nothing compared to the Canadian cars. Half Dodge half Plymouth and the Pontiacs are half Chevrolet.

Hell that's a pretty good beater for the price, heck it's already 'Pre-Lowered' if your part of that crowd!
