The motorcycles in this class are handmade prototypes, that cost millions of dollars per bike to engineer and build. They weigh 350 and are estimated to produce between 250-280 horsepower, and can reach 220 mph on certain tracks.

The most succesful rider in the history of the series is Valentino Rossi. Every year at his home race in Misano, to much fanfare he unveils a specially painted helmet.
This year his helmet is painted with a Blues Brother theme,and the Bluesmobile is prominently displayed as part of the paint job.
There will be be about 90,000 fans at the track, and millions watching on tv.
This will be the first time in history that a C-body leads a motorcycle race.
