Saw this car Friday at the AC car auction. On the poster board with pics of other cars for sale the price was $9995. I did see it in an auto classified flyer for $7500. I believe it was going up for auction. Don't know if it sold or not as I have not checked the auction website. If anyone is interested the selling dealer info is in a pic. Just be wary, the dealer is kind of a dick/ripoff character. Do not know if car is his outright or if it is a consignment. Car was not perfect but looked pretty darn nice. Has a 440. I think if everything is on the up and up $5000 would probably be a decent deal. I think it has 80,000 or 83,000 miles on it. newport 6.jpgnewport 4.jpgnewport 3.jpgnewport 5.jpgnewport 2.jpgNewport 1.jpg

I stayed away... I hate this event but sometimes get drawn in by the Summertime Blues .... I am glad I saved the fifty bucks and didnt go

Is the emblem on the gas cap door a separate piece or all one unit.

I need one for my 78 Newport...

Separate. It bolts to a flange on one of the bezels...passenger side, I think. 75-78 were the same, 74 was different-looking with a red reflector.

Just looked at the auction site, he wants a 10% or $1,000 min. after car sells. This sounds a bit high for a commission.

I don't know how this auction stays in business. It costs 500 to put your car for sale on the floor and $25.00 to walk in the door.... and Saturdays are always packed

But it's the repeat business that keeps this event going. Hell, even I go every three years, just to get out in winter

Is it the same as the C-pillar medallion?

The 75-78 crest is part of the gas cap cover reflector it seems, not a separate emblem. They have a subdued red hue to the crest, seem to be a graphic in the reflector and I can never recall them being really red.

Maybe I should have been more clear, the flip up door assembly bolts to the light bezel. Here's one I pulled years ago. I had designs on using it as a receiver hitch cover.

They always look like this one in my experience.

The 74 cover is different and the crest may be the same as the C pillar Newport crest, I don't have one to examine.

Mine looks about the same color and hue on my 78 Newport. The C-Pillar medallions I currently have on the Newport don't have any red left on them. The medallions I received from Mr. C is a huge improvement. Thanks Sir!
