For Sale, a 1976 Chrysler Newport 360 C.I. Electronic Ignition. And in excellent condition. And has been regularly driven every few days. Engine runs very smooth, and has had all periodical services done. Body was painted in the last few years. The car has a new set of Cooper Tires on it. Hub caps where refinished too. The starter motor was replaced recently as well. Car starts right up every time. The interior has one small spot on top of driver seat, where there is a small tear, see photo's. Everything else inside is very clean. From the dash to the headliners, to the door panels, and seat backing, everything is in great condition.

Flaws, the left rear running light lens is partially missing. And the passenger side window motor is intermitently sticking. This car has about 96k on the all original driveline.

Many photos

I just KNOW if I ask him if the A/C works, he'll give a BS answer.
On the other hand I love that car....
...if it was $2k less.

Maybe the issue is that unless Stan has a stash of R-12 in his garage he will have to convert over for sure. Just guessing...

I mention the a.c. all the time on Formals because it always seems like when one is for sale, they mention nothing about the a.c. and when asked, they lightly dismiss it with a BS line that it's not working and all it needs is to be charged. Well, why didn't they fix it if it's so simple. Because they did go to fix it and after finally finding someone, if at all, that can repair an AutoTemp II system, it would cost an arm and a leg.
The cost to convert from R12 is chump change, just as in any a.c. system. It's not the conversion but the wretched Rube Goldberg HVAC in general. Even if you have the skills forATC II, you can't get at the parts.
They are just about the most complicated a.c. systems known to man, usually filled with gremlins and needing expensive hard to find parts.
If you find a Formal, make sure it has the manual a.c.
