Not on my fave list, but damn is it clean! New car smell! may be a stretch, but I believe! Just noticed p.f. wheel lip trim with an "OH ****". 1976 air in that bias ply spare. http://denver.craigslist.org/cto/4895489365.html

I bought a '74 Elite when I turned 16. It was an absolute horror to learn to drive with. The side visibility was almost non-existent and rear visibility was even worse! It really felt like you're wearing big Elvis collars that came up higher than your eyes. My next car was a '67 Newport sedan with big windows and a flat trunk. I thought it was the greatest car ever made compared to that lousy Torino.

a lousy car,
but it was a great time then,, the good ole days! I had my 68' Charger. Not old at the time. But,,,,,,,,

These are not bad Malaise Era cars...not great, but not bad. My favorites in this price class of that time are the Chrysler Cordobas (round-light), and the '73 - '76 Chevy Laguna S-3 Collonade-style coupes.

My uncle was a Ford man until he purchased one of these cars brand new. The car kept stalling on the highways in Chicago. After being towed to the dealer more times than he cares to remember, the problem was with a sensor in the seat and it was disconnected. That was the last Ford he owned.

Highly optimistic with that price, There was a super clean 79 Thunderbird for sale out this way at $2500. On CL quite awhile with no takers. Nicer than this '74. If it had stayed up any longer I might have crumbled.

We briefly had a black Elite back in the day. I don't remember why we had it for such a short period of time...probably because of "the heavy doors". My Mom hated coupes because she said they had "heavy doors" so my family had mostly 4 drs and wagons.
The Cordoba I learned to drive in also eventually was sold because of the "heavy doors" but we had it longer. Good times.
