Old Man with a Hat
not mine
This New Yorker has been in our family since my wife’s grandmother purchased it new. Upon her passing in 1997, it’s been garage kept. Power is from a 440ci V8 with rebuilt carburetor paired with a three-speed Torque-Elite automatic transmission. The four-door hardtop body features frameless door glass and equipment includes chrome bumpers and trim, hideaway headlamps, fender skirts, and cornering lights. Steel 15″ wheels with chrome-plated hubcaps wear mismatched tires and are covered by fender skirts in the rear. The car is equipped with front torsion bars, rear leaf springs, and power-assisted steering. Stopping power was provided by vacuum-boosted brakes with front discs and rear drums. Service completed in 2021 includes the replacement of the pitman and idler arms as well as repair of the parking brake release, an ignition tune-up with a replacement distributor cap and spark plugs as well as replacement of the power steering hoses, fuel filters, and vacuum reservoir, which allowed us to pass the stringent Maryland safety inspection. The fuel tank was removed and cleaned in March 2021. The cabin is upholstered in tufted grey leather with a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpeting. Appointments include a power-adjustable 50/50 split front bench seat, automatic climate control, intermittent windshield wipers, power accessories, cruise control, and an AM/FM stereo with an integrated CB radio. We also have more pics and 2 videos available.
