Too many nice parts on that car! Especially a low-production-year car to boot! Probably not a full 25K were produced that year?

What happened to the powertrain? Just curious.

Would be a really NICE place for a small block stroker or a GenIII Hemi upgrade! Style, comfort, handling, and POWER. Incognito, of course.

That's the sad thing about these poor R-bodies.. always getting their valuable low-compression, flat-tappet small blocks removed for musclecar projects.

Not.

When I got my '80 Newport, it was stock. I put some Chrysler HD shocks on the front, a new set of Monroe air shocks on the back (to replace the existing defective Midas ones). That firmed things up nicely with the stock 15" wheels/wheel covers.

THEN, the Magnum GT 15x7 wheel kit, all new over the Dodge dealer's front counter, with some mid-line P215/75R-15 whitewall radials. The wider wheels made a big difference in steering response, as it put the sidewalls pretty much vertical to the road. That size was also used on the "Open Road" suspension package (lighter duty police suspension, from what I could tell by the specs). With those wheels, the stock wheel covers could be used, too.

Top me, Chrysler did a very poor job of marketing these cars, even with their generally anemic LA motors. Ride is very quiet, especially with all of the sound/heat insulation under the carpet and the isolated k-frame. It would have been easy to do a "sports" model with buckets and a B-Cordoba console as the front floor section has the mounting pad for a floor shifter on the dual exhaust cars. BY the same token, it's very easy to use a B/RB Cordoba k-frame to put a B/RB motor/727 in one, too! Just no room for any power seat mechanism!

I'll concur that interior condition would be key. That "full molded" instrument panel might be an issue! But the leather seats would be easier to fix than the "floating cushion" look cloth split bench in my '80 Newport.

Just hate to see something that looks that good be wasted!

It's hard to tell in the crap photo, but that's a 5th Ave model. Also, the zip code is Kentucky. That surprises me, because I thought anyone that bad at automotive marketing worked in Auburn Hills, MI
