A friend has a 1984 Rampage on his lot for $4K. Very nice truck, with only the exception of clearcoat peel on the hood. Original paint (silver) with red interior, 2.2L non-turbo with auto and air, 44K miles. I've been tossing this one around as a daily driver, especially if I end up working across town.

The 2.2L is a great engine - probably the very best Mopar offered. You NEED to change the timing belt at 60K - 70K mile intervals, or it'll break, and bend every valve in the meantime, just like a BMW (I'm familiar with both!). The Mitsu 2.6 was the problematic four-banger, when the time came for a timing chain change, the Silent Shaft was the cause of many problems with the procedure. I'd rock a 2.2L any day!

I had great luck with a 2.2 turbo in a Lebaron years ago. Ran great, good mileage, no issues. It was a manual trans too.

Actually 2.2L was non-interference... If you stripped the belt at low speed you were probably fine. The non-turbos were unexciting and many ran all the way to the crusher, just like many slant 6s and 318s. Jer wouldn't get too excited without a turbo... then he would be lookin to show up some poor kid in a Slowmaro...

Until all the snowbirds leave with their SuperDuty F550 Diesel crew cab 4x4 dually longbeds hauling a fifth wheeler, I'm sticking to tanks thank you very much.

YAH YAH YAH, You might be able to convince some folks of that, but I've chris-crossed that state when the love bugz are out and there ain't ah snowbird within ah thousand milez ah there at that time ah year. Don't matter what direction or what street you run on down there. There'z danger everywhere. Hell, I even had ah Bobwhite fly in my open window up near Lake City one time. Almost peed myself and took better'n two weekz to get all the featherz outa the cab, shish

Will owned a LeBaron? :(

Yep, bought it new sometime in the 80's/90's, can't remember now. It was a 5 speed manual, great fun to drive. I can't even remember what became of it but it never gave me any trouble.
It was some kind of special edition, looked like this....

I think I had a hose like that too.

Came real close to buying a new 1987 Shelby Lancer. The dealership had the car for over a year, and had the car discounted pretty heavily. BUT, I was getting ready to go to Germany for three years, so that kinda stopped that deal. Shame, too, as that really was a great-driving car and would've been fun on the Autobahn.

The 92 Dodge Daytona's are especially dear to my heart being a Lotus owner and huge fan of the Lotus marque. It was great that lotus engineering was being used world wide and still is today!
92-93 IROC R/T
The Turbo III — a turbocharged, intercooled 2.2 liter with a Lotus DOHC 16-valve head. Output was 224 hp at 6000 rpm and 217 lb·ft at 2800 rpm. Redline is set at 6500 with a fuel cutoff at 6700.
Very nice car and fantastic performance for that time!
