1988 Dodge Aries - 85,000 original miles

Not Running. Previous owner looked into engine problem by partially disassembling it. Removed Head Cover, Spark Plugs and Distributor Cap. He conclude it will need a new timing belt. However, he left head cover off so crank shaft has slight surface rust now thanks to the damp mornings in Daly City. All parts are reported with car except a battery, I have not gone through the box to double check but it appears he is right.

Exterior has clear coat issues however the body is straight.

Interior is red and in really good condition.

Clean Title. Registration expired last month.

I bought it to fix but have never got around to it yet and wife is pissed that its taking her parking spot.

Asking $600 or best offer.

Please email with questions and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Car is located in Cupertino.

And move the differential back about ten feet.
Oh, and turn the engine so that it's facing north and south.
Plus 2 or 4 more cylinders.
In addition to...

Wait. Why bother.

I had a Dodge Aries. It was a decent car and fit the bill nicely for me... I had two kids in car seats and not a lot of money.

Chrysler had a issue with the front frame rusting away and the K-frame would come loose. They had a recall that placed hooks around the frame so that when the K-frame came loose, it wouldn't fall out of the car. It didn't fix the problem or even make the car drivable... It just keep you from crashing.

My K-car was pretty good when I bought it used... and I liked it. Two years later the frame rotted away.. and I mean rotted.. It wasn't just soft in a couple places.... There was holes that seemed to develop overnight that where big enough to put your hand in. I junked an otherwise perfectly good car because of that.

Yah. Otherwise than a totally junk frame, great car.....

I wouldn't say great car... Decent car.

What pissed me off was the rest of the car was good. It ran great, got good gas mileage. Aside from it being kinda fugly, the car didn't look like it was some rusty POS.

Any other car would have had 50k+ miles left in it.

I inherited a Dynasty with about 15,000 on it.
Two weeks later I'm on I-95 with tranny shrapnel littering the highway.
