Offered for sale is Texas DPS unit D8-367, an actual former Texas Highway Patrol unit. Originally black and white, repainted by the state when it was sold at auction. Driver and passenger Unity S-6 spotlights. 318 4 barrel, automatic transmission. Five vented Mopar cop wheels and all 4 vented police hubcaps. This is a running, driving, registered and inspected vehicle. Includes literally a trunk full of spare parts to fit this car. This car is the real deal, and has become quite rare. $3400

I worked for DPS for 12 years and am restoring a 1990 Ford LTD Texas DPS unit. I want to focus on the Ford so the Dodge needs to go. If you have any questions, please email me. I am located between Bridgeport and Decatur.

Will consider trades for nice gooseneck car/equipment diamond plate floor trailer (at least 24 ft), clean enclosed WW or CM cargo trailer (at least 14 ft), interesting other trades considered.

I miss the 88 Dippy AHB I had. Terribly slow, but a fabulously nice-driving car. Smooth, comfortable, and handled really well. I put 11.75" B-body discs on it, a cheap simple upgrade, and it would stretch your eyeballs on a hard stop. And one of the best seats I've ever sat it.

Unless it needs zero mechanical TLC, this car seems about $1000 overpriced based on the body and interior condition, and those civvy-style seats are a turnoff (to me, anyway) in a copcar. Just MO.

Not sure what the market is like for these former police cars, but they have lots of power and torque to spare. When getting my '79 Dip wagon roadworthy (to use as a part time band-car-driver), we swapped out the standard rear for the rear from a former police car with 11" rear drums, etc., and it was time/effort well spent. If it isn't mechanically thrashed, a little clean-up might make it a nice sleeper daily driver.
