Hey everyone, I have a chance to buy a 2007 Sebring, 125,000 miles, nice body, blown 2.7 V6 engine. Asking $800.00 will pay $500.00. Anyone have any experience with this engine?

Yeah rip it out and put a 3.5 in its place.

Wait that is in a LH car, a sidewinder fwd I'm not sure, they are the same physical size but may not be able to swap/get a ecm.

Thanks, Trying to come up with some options. I have heard the 2.7 is a total piece of junk, Hate to let a good body go, thinking of swapping to the bigger V6, or the I4.

The 2.7 V6 was an OK engine IF you changed the oil frequently. By design, the oil really ran too hot, and if the owner let the oil change interval slip, it spelled doom for the engine due to sludge buildup and eventual failure. And as these cars get older, that is much more likely to happen. But those cars weren't all that great once they crossed 100K miles, so I tend to agree with 67 Monaco.
