Good morning,
I had the alternator on our 2007 T&C rebuilt a little over 2 months ago because the battery light came on. It cam on again yesterday. I was thinking that the newer vehicles like this had the voltage regulator built into the alternator. A quick check of Rock Auto doesn't show one listed separately.
I did a little bit of looking around on the net and found places that say the voltage is controlled by the PCM. Can anyone confirm that it is controlled by the PCM?
Additionally, I found these guys selling this kit that makes it seem like the VR is in the PCM. External Voltage Regulator by-pass Kit, Chrysler Dodge Jeep
I appreciate any input. I just don't want to go down any unnecessary rabbit holes.
