295s and skirts

I was helping to set up our club display for the World of Wheels and saw this 300L with 295s on it in another display. Apparently no mods were required to tuck them in. On 8" wheels with a 4 1/4ish BS.

He built it for his wife for her birthday, and after this show, it will be driven. She is coming to the show this afternoon and will see it for the first time, and has no idea. It is nicely done, but he has taken some liberties. I don't like the exhaust tips or the spinners. The roof looks like the convertible pinpoint pattern as well. The hood pad isn't so great either. And all this from one of the most expensive shops in the area.

Did he move the Autopilot? When I put the dual res master on my 66, it needed some of the space the Autopilot was using.

Where's the skirts? Not one girl? J.K. that's a nice 65 not the last full size muscle car but last letter.

I thought the 65 clear tailights were only on New Yorkers and only for the early part of the 65 run...

I agree the tail pipe tips leave something to be desired...

However,, the spinners on the wheels I really like....

I was researching that when I bought my 300. I came across some info (can't remember where) that claimed the clears were on the New Yorkers as well as the 300L. :dontknow:

I don't think the clear lenses came on 300 Ls . The data book clearly shows them on the NY only and not on the L. As well the data book does not list the clear lens as an option. I think they were transplanted from a NY.

I know your 300 is not an L, but did your car come with them or did you do a NY transplant?

I used the tail lights and the 413 from a donor NYer.

I'm just the opposite..the tailpipes don't bother me..but I can't stand spinners. Still a gorgeous car though!
