If you like steam trains and cars, head to Union, IL this weekend for the 29th Annual Vintage Transportation Show. See link for details.

Damn it. It really sucks I am not closer to this event otherwise I would most likely go. Sounds like a lot of fun. I'm a train fanatic and also a car fanatic too. I think Zac (@monaco75) would be interested in this if he is not too far away. Huh, huh.:poke:

I have been to this event several times. Absolutely worth a longer drive (it's over an hour for us). The car show has a great turnout and is sorted by make, they open their 15 or so buildings for full-access display (complete with signs on every piece of equipment) and usually are running about six different pieces of equipment on the tracks. The best part is up to three people in your collector car get in for the car show admission and everything except food is included in that price, so unlimited rides all day. Every year sees more and more Mopars too I have noticed.

If you like DeSotos, I am hosting next year's National DeSoto Club convention the same weekend in southeastern Wisconsin. The car show for that is Saturday, IRM is always Sunday. It may make the trip more worthwhile.

Does look nice! Unfortunately half a country away from us... always a bit far from the good stuff.
