Besides my Aussie Fury 111 I own a 1939 Chrysler Royal.
As a favour a little while ago I took a lovely teenage girl and her partner to a High School dance
("Prom"?) in my cherished '39 Chrysler and as a surprise she sent me this

Cool. Have we seen the real thing?

Hello again, a short story on my built in Oz '39 Chrysler Royal. See Pics
Origin Detroit, built Dec '38 and is one of 246 Rhd cars exported in knocked down form world wide.
My car was assembled in South Australia by T.J Richards. To get around local import Tariffs the cars also needed %? of local content. In my case the car has upholstery peculiar to Australia, with other different things like door winding mechanisms, interior handles, Sunvisors and interior courtesy lighting to name a few.You will also note from the pics that my front bumper is straight unlike the fancier US version. These bumpers were common on all the Aussie Chrysler derivatives of those years, i.e Dodge, Plymouth, De Soto etc.
My car was bought new in Oz by a travelling (Irish) Catholic Priest, apparently he was a big gambler and on a good win he would by a new fancy car and like wise quickly sell it when he suffered a big loss. (He was often seen driving different flash cars)
He sold the car in 1940 to the Le Grand family business in country Queensland where it did service as hire taxi and funeral car.
During it's taxi years is transported American troops to and from Brisbane to a 14,000 acre Army camp one hour SE of Brisbane.
I bought it off the Le Grand family after approx 75 years in their caring custodian ship.
A rust free car which only needed a bit of TLC to bring it up to scratch. So admired by many!!

OK, What do I need to get your interest, it not a C body, but it is five times stronger and should be called an "Infinity" Body??

I think the 39 Royal was a C22.

Chrysler named their models back then with a C and then a number. Dodges were D, Plymouth was P and Desoto was S. My 53 Windsor is a C60.

It's a little stretch, but you can call it a C body.

Arn't I stupid, off course it is a C body, it was a C22 one of the first of the C bodies. But with all those beautiful curves a fuselage it certainly was not.
