If you are having a hard time finding a large paint mask due to Covid 19 insanity, this thread will help if you have a large paint mask in need of repair. It seems that the harnesses break about every 3 years on a 3M 6000 series paint mask. I ordered a 3M medium 6200 paint mask from China on eBay. I basically ordered it as a repair kit, because there is no way a medium paint mask will fit an adult male’s face.
3M center of Broken Harness, pops off with a pocket knife
I took the harness off of the medium mask that I bought on eBay and use the 2 internal tangs to pop it onto my large 3M paint mask.
Pop it onto 2 buttons and the harness is transferred. It fits exactly the same on the medium and large paint masks.
Old filters twist off. New filters twist on. New filters come with mask.
Place auxiliary filter in plastic surround and pop onto the main filter using tangs on the plastic surround.
Felt and breathed good as new.
