These are not mine but thought I would post these since so many guys are looking for them. I dont think the price is out of line sine nice centers are extremely difficult to find.
In 2013 I bought a set of NOS centers that the seller was asking the same amount and I was able to get them a bit cheaper but I also knew the seller for 16 years.

If I werent submerged in other areas of number two I would be knocking on this sellers door

Probably will get near his price, given how hard it is to find nice caps anymore. I was discussing with Bob Baker a project to reproduce these, but the first estimate we got to do the job was too high for us to afford. The problem is trying to determine how many people would really buy them if we went ahead on the venture, and at what price? With so many people on this site, it seems a shame we can't somehow band together to do some reproductions with no profit in mind, rather just making them available again at a reasonable price for all............................................

I did a WTF when I saw the price but when I thought about it and started crunching numbers in my head, it's not an unreasonable starting point. IF I HAD to have them, I would be happy at around 800.

To repop domes and caps, you would have to...
Take 3D lasering images
Make sand castings for EACH cone.
The cones could be cranked out on a 5 axis cnc machine possibly.
Tripple plate them.
Make a die to make the cap clips.
A press to shape the clips.

It goes on and on.
An individual or group of individuals would never get back their initial outlay.
AND... GOD FORGIVE ME FOR SAIYNG THIS...
they would need to be made in China to come in a price that cheap guys like us would consider buying them.

I dont know what they'd cost to re pop but $600 for four is a deal. Especially if you consider having your old ones re done... I did pay $800.00 for my NOS set which are on number one.

Re - pops would have to be American made for me to consider it

I wasn't suggesting they should be.
I'm guessing any company (like Vintiques) would likely source them out of China.

guess l busted my butt till 7 for a reason today...thanx Polara...bought them...looks like l'll have a pile of them older ones to let go now

Glad you got them too Derek. That makes it easy for me to forget about them for myself now!

Several years ago at Carlisle a guy had boxes of NOS caps, of what he referred to as a "case". His asking was $125.00 for a cap. I missed them by 3 minutes and all I could do was stand next to the C body guy buying them all.

I had ah swap space set up two spaces down from Mitchell's tent in '03 '04 I think, can't remember? But I had ah set of NOS rally caps with a set of used but nice domed centerz to fit 'um setting there and while I waz setting up the rest of my table I saw this guy come out of Mitchell's tent and I knew that he worked in there 'cuz I'd seen him on the back side of there tables earlier in the morning. He came up, picked up one of those centerz and ask how much and I said $100 each and another $100 for the 4 centerz and I won't split 'um. He set it down and said he'd be right back. That waz Thursday afternoon. He meandered over late Saturday afternoon and ask if I waz ready to sell those wheel centerz and I laughed at him. Told him that they went 10 minutes after he said he'd be right back on Thursday and there were two guyz in a bidding war over 'um well over $500 'til one finally said I don't want 'um that bad you can have 'um to the other guy. The look on hiz face waz priceless. What he didn't know waz that I'd actually sold them to a good 300 car-bud of mine for his newly restored '62 New Yorker T&C for the pricely sum of $100 for every thing and we both went home happy. I just love it when I can slam somebody that needz slammin', don't Y'all?
