This seems like a nice deal to me.

My next car acquisition is going to be a turn key....

Twostick is correct the two cars didn't share the same engine, but the Chrysler was a 331 or 354, (331-354-392 engine family)
the Desoto was a 331 in 56', and 341 in 57', a totally different engine family. That takes nothing from the fact that the car is a great value.

They are complicated, as the three competed with each other. Dodge was different altogether. Chrysler had the distributer in front, long stroke engine. Desoto was in back, squarish bore/stroke. Dodge in back, big bore, shorter stroke. Dodge and Desoto ran two Barrels, and you could get the engines either in poly head or hemi head. That is it, sorry to ramble.

I stand to correct myself, never post after working all day. The 331-392 family also had the distributer in the back. all else applies. I had the 58' 350-361 engine in my head, which came in the Desoto.(first modern big block)
