Of the '55 and '56 Chrysler products, the '55 were all 6VDC, and were 12VDC from '56 on. Pretty much when the rest of the US automakers did the switch to 12V ('55 and '56).

If you can start it and drive it home ...... It's a "turn key" vehicle. Dosen't mean it won't need some help, as most old vehicle will.
