Original 1958 Dodge Coronet Super D500 California Highway Patrol Car
original 361 big block with twin four barrel carbs, torqueflight automatic transmission
12 inches brakes 6 leaf springs
built by Chrysler to CHP specs. All 57-61 Dodges for CHP used full circle 57 plymouth steering wheels
also roof mounted rear view mirrors instead of the factory dash mount
straight rust free body with dent on left front fender hood crease and dent on hood.
floors and trunk floor have some rust through
missing some emblems. you can see the outline of the D500 emblem on the trunk
none running. clean appearing oil in engine and transmission
Clear current California title with matching California black plates
just came out of Riverside county California. Illness forces sale
article shows the test results between 58 dodge and mercury. CHP bought about 150 of each RARE!

wow. neat car. seriously cool. I hope somebody gets it back on the road.

factory dual carbs...didn't know such a thing existed pre-1960.

other than speedometer (assuming its police-only back then?), can anybody determine what's made of "unobtainium" for this rig if its missing or has unusable/ or damaged beyond repair parts?

radiator? cop-car (or CHP) only parts? other?
 
And its a two door to boot.
A D500 2 door at that...
My jury is still out. I see no holes on the exterior for antennas a/o lights.
Also, this car may be a Mayfair.
Regardless, RARE and very desirable!!! Does not deter me from lusting over this car.
