Ads like this make me angry. All I can think about is how much did the Flippership steal the car for...

This car has been for sale by this dealer for a few years. Price has been dropped drastically. I think I remember it at 78K. I see some red flags but it is still very nice, and unusual.
His pictures help me a lot. According to the tag it is a factory sport tone car. Now I can see where all the paint cut lines are to transform Virgils finish to a sport tone.

Remarkably good condition and documentation, seems to be very original, not sure about the lower White, this could maybe be repainted once, seems to be in a little better condition than the red.

The red paint is crap. Just look at all the swirl marks present. This seller is worthless as far as I am concerned. He could easily have those taken care of, even by a professional for around $1000. Pennies compared to his asking price and would go a long way towards justifying his price. Yet, he is too damn lazy and therefore doesn't deserve close to what he is asking. That just pisses me off as all it take is some good swirl compound, a good polish, some good foam pads and a Makita BO6040 or Flex XC3401VRG. So if he can't take care of that what else did he not bother with?

Unless you live, breath, and die by 61 Fury's, you have no clue how correct the restoration on it.

61 Plymouth and Dodge cars are extremely hard to document. There are no complete factory code lists known, or "white books". Several options were added throughout the model year as well as "in production" changes. I have accumulated more documentation then Chrysler historical has about codes. The trim tag on this car is almost a duplicate of the tag on my car, so I was able to verify most everything on it. It's pretty correct. The variances I see are likely due to shoddy assembly line practices.
The Sport tone option is so rare that it was probably done off line. All those cut lines had to be hand masked.
This is a very special car that someone will be proud to own. The marketing is typical of a dealer with an obscure car.

Really a nice car... I'm glad she is useful to you Will.

I am just looking at this one as a teaser as to how Virgil will look when finished. I bet the other half of the membership gets involved in your thread once the paint is on... WHAT ? Another 61 Fury restroation......
