Nice truck. Looks like you've done a lot to it. Can you tell us more about the truck?

Didn't want to get "off topic" over there,

It is a 1964 D200 Crewcab. I'm the second regestered owner. Special ordered from a Dodge dealer in Cedar City Utah in Dec 63. (original invoice attached).

The original owner was an employee at the dealership then.

The truck came with a stack of service invoices from the dealership and other places.

Aside from a repaint, (original colors) in 1984 and some regular maintiance items it is still all original, including the seat covers which were covered when new.

I bought it in Cedar Ciry in 2001 and drove it to North Carolina. I photo documented that trip. It had 92000 on it then and has 149000 now. I did do a valve job a few years ago.

There are several interesting stories attached to this truck. I was able to contact some people who remembered it back in the day.

That is an amazing and rare truck. I don't think I've ever seen another crew cab.

I seen a couple of these crewcabs...but none as nice as yours. Very neat truck, and history too. That thing needs a cummins...;)

Here's an article about the Sweptlines that says the CSS (Custom Sport Special) version was available and some produced with a 426 Wedge. Also some babble from Galen in the CSS/Adventurer link saying there was 2 prototypes with 426 Hemi's in them.

Cummins swap....

I've thought about that. The poly 318 & Loadflight, (push button), is OK at best. You get to enjoy the scenery on long grades. Fuel milage....... Well, not so good.
A Cummins would be awesome.... WHoops.... really neat...! It just seems like a lot of effort to swap.

Get your self a complete 2wd cummins truck...89/90 and early 91..NON-intercooled. Simple 2 wire installation. The rest is pretty straight forward. I bet the motor mounts would fit your old crewcab with little to no adjustment. Since they were made to bolt into the Dodge rams that still were running 318's and 360's. Tranny would be either a lock up 727 or A518...so should bolt in again with little to no fuss.

I'll look around for a link to a swept line dodge ram cummins build and post it up.

That's not a bad price at all. You could probably have the tranny rebuilt for a couple hundred and still be less then 2K. Nice thing about getting a whole truck is it will have all the little things you can't anticipate.
