I recently bought a 65 with a 426 wedge, can I put a Max Wedge intake on it, Heads, Headers?? having a heck of a time finding parts for this engine and model, Thanks for any advice:welcome:

Welcome aboard!

:sFl_america2:

Nice find! Pictures please.

You do NOT want to go through the MAX WEDGE hassles when you can simply equal or surpass Max Wedge performance with tried and true standard wedge components. There's a ton of stuff out there.
And since there was no Max Wedge in '65, you're not concerned about authenticity, why not go the 440 route. It's actually cheaper to build from a 440 from a 426.
How far do you want to push the hp envelope? The maximum comfortable street hp can be achieved with what you got w/o going the MW route.

I am seeing that your right after researching and visiting a mopar junkyard near my house. A set of flow masters and leave it the way it is,, thanks

i was able to find headers, Hedman makes them but not on their website, you have to go to a hedman dealer, 625ish for bare metal and 800 for ceramic coated, ouch

I did not see them listed for a '65 in TTI, American Speed Center said they can get the Hedmann though

65 sports fury with a 426....thats like winning the lottery man, you ever want to let it go, let me know, seriously....

have fun

I would consider it, just because what I really want is a Demon, but I wont let it go for less than 17, you can get ahold of me if your really interested 717 309 5014 John

I did post some, look under the Tires Suspention Thread, its a 426 Wedge factory 4 speed. Not Concours quality but on a 1 to 10 I would give it a 7. Gonna try to take it to Carlisle but I am not gonna put it in the car Corral because I am not really all that interested in selling it. Might consider some kind of trade though

Pretty sure I was parked beside you at Carlisle with the wagon.

Nice car.

That Max wedge stuff isn't for a Street Wedge which is what you have. Ports are much smaller on yours and won't match up with the intake. A+A makes a reproduction intake for normal port heads but it is mucho $$.

i have learned this and its staying basically stock, no, I was sandwiched between 2 Polaras, one a convert and the other a Purple one, only thing I might do is look for some alumn heads, but I am keeping it all, I would love to find a Demon but people want crazy prices. This is one bad *** Sport FUry.
