65 plymouth sport fury conv 413

VIN on a 65 doesn't tell you anything. You need to look at the fender tag and you can use the below to decode some options. To get all the options the car was built with look for the build sheet. It can be almost anywhere in the interior. under the seats, behind the glove box, etc. The 413 wasn't an option for a US Fury in 65. But I can't say the same about Canada.

i purchased a 65 plymouth sport fury conv with a 413 vin p8e59157817 canadain built
i am tring to confirm this there is a 413 in the vehicle
Canadian built for the American market
383 or 426...
If it was a Canadian market car it would have Polara badging aka "Plodge".
A picture of the front of the block right under the driver's side head will I.D. it as a "B"big block 383 or an "RB" raised big block 426.

No mention anywhere of a '65 Sport Fury getting the 413. It is unlikely that motor is original to the car if it is indeed a 413. As Stan pointed out, check the block.

Found this on the web...
The 413 was used from 1959 to 1965 in cars. During that period, it powered almost all Chrysler New Yorker and all Imperial models, and was also available on the lesser Chryslers, Dodge Polara, Dodge Monaco, and Plymouth Fury as an alternative to the B-block 383 and/or the A-block 318.

Could be a rare car you have there!!

the CID is stamped in the pad on the driver side front of the block and also is cast in big numbers on one side of the block (passenger side maybe?).
It is real easy to tell, no codes to decipher, just plain old actual numbers.

As per Allpar.com

Just four engines were offered in Canada: the 225, called the "Economy Slant Six"; the "Plymouth V-8", now a full 318 cubic inches, up from the uniquely Canadian 313 size it had held since 1958; a 383 4 barrel called the "Hi-Performance V-8"; and the 413 "Maximum Performance V-8."

No 426 available here.

If its a 426 it should be on hood ornament I have no idea Canadian built its 383 most likely 426 are very rare and they were 700 dollar option in 65

Canadian built for the Canadian market. This was pre-autopact and Chrysler was too cheap to bring in the 426 engines into Canada, so they used the 413s instead. Once captaintune gets to check the numbers he'll know for sure.

Good luck with that. There is no Canadian option installation information earlier than 1967.
