Is that a silver interior I see? That makes 3 total!
I would be all over this car if it weren't 3,000 miles away!

I want it!

I like it alot too, I'm convinced somebody tarted up their Newport with 300 stuff though.

Fine by me, I want to see a trim tag. I'm going to make a call.

Gotta get that gas gauge fixed, that must be a major pain in the ***...tanking up every time you have to drive the car.

It's not so bad. I just assume ten miles for every gallon of gas I put in and keep track of my miles.

it's what I'm doing right...replaced the gauge in mine but nothing still, must be the sender. It briefly worked when I got the car.

I think its silver and if its not its a blue I haven't seen before. More pics are on there way.

Check out the dash picture. Looks like light blue. Door panels look light and dark blue.

Yeah, you're right but what a sharp combo.

Here's the trim tag, I thought it looked a little WW1 under the hood...
Is that what you got when you ordered a blue interior? Because I like it a lot.

So you have to keep a log book to keep track of your gas amount? It's usually electrical, and sometimes its as little as a rusty ground breaking the circuit. It's an easy fixed compared to other stuff that can occur.

It could be the sender (more times then not) or a rusty ground. I would have to fix it, jotting down fuel amounts would drive me absolutely ape ****.

I just remember the amount. Like right now I need more gas at xxx80x. The sender is good and it still doesn't work with a fresh shiny ground. I also replaced the instrument panel.

How did you determine the sender was good? I know we probably talked about this but refresh my memory.

I checked it with a resistance meter (too early for me to remember the right name for that tool...) and it was in spec. It is something in the wiring I haven't found yet. For instance, the temperature gauge pegs as soon as I plug it in, even with a new temp sending unit. (It is unplugged atm so I don't burn out the gauge.) The door light comes on like it should, but it brings the highbeam light with it. The highbeam light is also reversed, on with the lows and off with the highs.

Sorry I asked, my head hurts now...

Waitasecond, the high beam headlights come on when you open the door? (I assume that's when the door light comes on) no way. Wow, I'm sure you have an FSM......got to track that down. I bet there is wiring fused together, someplace where the insulation has melted just enough to let the actual conductors come in contact with each other....and that would not necessarily cause a short either. Do you have a test light also?
