67 Fury 383 buildup advice

I am helping a buddy with his 67 Fury FB. He wants it to get up and go. Surprise some tuner cars. It is a 45k mi 383 car, 727, 8 3/4. Already has ported and rebuilt 906 heads to put on, hedders and 2.5 dual ex. Leaving the bottom end alone for now. What are some of your combinations for the C bodies? Cam, Intake, Carb, Converter, Rear gears? He wants to run between the stoplights but not have the engine high revving all the time. Doesent care about fuel miles, of course.
 
I like the 3.55 gear ratio. Chances are he has higher (numerically lower) gearing than that. Any taller and the cruise rpm is raised to more than 3K at 65mph. I'd recommend a torque cam - something like the XE256, and the porting on the heads I hope is not major porting. The best dual plane is the Edelbrock RPM. A convertor in a C body needs to be tight because of the weight. I'd give either PTC or Ultimate Convertors a call - but weight the car and make choices for camshaft and gearing first.
