The truth is, they do not use salt on the roads up there when you get to the rural areas which is 90% of Maine.
On the Maine coast, a galvanized nail will turn into a rusty pin while you're watching it.
Gets cold stays cold, then its summer again. Only thing that sticks in my mind about Maine is every damn time I went there in the summer I had to turn the heater valves back on in the truck.
I think Aroostic County has summer the last week in July and that's about it...
I hated delivering up there in the Winter. Nothing worked. Doors wouldn't open, pallet jacks crapped the bed, and you think that two layers off wool Actic socks isn't enough.
The truth is when this car probably got most of its miles they didn't salt secondary roads, they only lyrics sanded and people got by. Now as soon as the weatherman says snow the road crews are out putting liquid calcium down. None of the cars on the road now can survive.
Commando1 is right about THE county having summer for a week or so....
