68 300 grille in a 67 300?

I know this is not what your asking but the '67 300 has such a beautiful front end. Why go through all the work to change it into something it's not?
Also I would think the '67 is less common, which is a good thing. No?

I like the hideaways on the 68 300 and also like the rear and tail lights of the 67 300. being a car and bike builder I like to customize. I want a 68 300 and was just looking at the front end of the 67. it looks like it has the same sheet metal.

67 was a fender with a fender extension.
68 was a one piece fender.
Basically you're looking to swap the front clip.

It's an easy swap, hardest is the bracket in the middle that holds the headlight motor and the wiring that goes with it.

I would also do it because I like the 67 interior more than the 68.

I like the '67 also. Beautiful design.

I'd just buy a 68 to hang out with the 67... Ha.. Ha.. (I can't even afford one) ha.

The brace that the hood latch bolts to on the 67 may not allow the 68 headlights to open up all of the way. I ran into this problem on my '68. The front had been swapped to a '67 for some reason and then it was hit which trashed the '67 grille. I got the correct 68 grille but then had to make a spacer for that cross brace in order for the headlight covers to open up. Maybe I only have problems because things are all wrong and not even factory, but it's something else to look out for.

There are tabs towards the front of the fenders that this brace bolts on to. I can take a pic when I get home.
