So I just bought matching set head rests on eBay. I don't like the fact the drivers seat was either never there or missing. Seems a lot of these cars didn't have on on the drivers seat. Tired of going to shows or cruise night and people asking why it is missing. Anyway what I still need it the chrome things the posts go thru on top of the vinyl. Anyone have any clue? I'm not even concerned is I have a set from another year just as long as I have match in head rests and matching hardware. Any advice would be great!

there is more to it than that. there are holes drilled in the seat frame for the posts to go through, metal retaining clips and there are plastic guides that are under the vinyl. the chrome plates screw into the plastic guides. reproduction sets are sold on ebay.

Thanks! I figured as much. I looked on eBay think I found a used set hardware for a 69. Looks like the Crome parts on my passenger side. If you have a ling to the reproduction set that would be great as I can't find them.

Yup my 68 Monaco 500 is the same way. I like leaving it with the single seat post holes because it funny watching people's facial expressions not being able to figure it out. It's something unique to old Mopars and for that reason would never change it.

I agree but sometime get tired of the same conversation lol. I had a 67 coronet 440 with a 273 in it. I got so tired of people asking why there wasn't a 440 like it said in the side, not realizing it was the body style not the motor. So I put a built 440 in it so when I got asked is it a 440......yep....convo over

Try R/T specialties for reproduction headrest hardware, I think they offer a kit.

Is your car equipped with a passenger reclining seat ...? The headrest was standard on them, but the driver side had to be ordered seperate. The reclining seat used the large rectangular style headrest also.

No my pass seat doesnt recline. I wound up buying the used hardware kit on eBay. Prob paid too much however everything on this car I pay too much!! I just wanted the parts now I can pull the seats out and get them redone.

EDIT: Whoh just the chrome things are 109.00 fron R/T specialist. I bought the used set for 45 and came with all the nylon bits and pieaces. Yeah the parts I got a pitted a bit but hey I dont have a show car. lol feeling better about my purchase!

sorry i didn't get back to you sooner, but you got a good deal on the used hardware. repro goes from $110-$130.
