-Trunk repaired with trunk extensions.
-Firewall did have some minor holes in it cut and patched with gorilla hair.

As far as the paint I primed it with primer sealer. It might not look pretty but this car runs great has better power now nothing mechanically wrong at all, there wasn't before I upgraded to 4 barrel. Paint and Body work which is the most expensive thing has to be done or if someone likes the way it looks leave it because I like the way it looks as I am not a gloss and shiny paint person. Like I said just asking opinions on what I could get for it. I know c bodies aren't in high demand. I have seen some for $3500 with rust and the motor would need to be rebuilt so I really don't know where I fall. 20130504_092430.jpg20130517_113211.jpg20130517_125335.jpg20130517_125339.jpg20130517_125342.jpg20130517_125345.jpg20130517_204505.jpg20130609_172130.jpg20130609_172138.jpg20130630_121619.jpg

I'll go $3.5 $4k.
A lot of work has been done and there's still more work to be done.

One thing to remember is that what ones asking price and ones selling price are often significantly different.

I know you've sunk a ton of work, labor and money into this car from the list of things you have done.Sounds like you've done quite a bit, BUT,I'm sure you know how people value cars. First thing is usually appearance. I'm not a big fan of fiberglass repairs on something that should be metal,so that would hurt things a little in my book.Mechanically it seems to be sound, but then there's the fact that it doesn't have AC or any power accessories,so that also hurts the value a little. If you really want top dollar, paint the car,but even then your probably in over your head with expenses than the car is worth. As it sits (from the pics) I would think you'd have a hard time getting more than $3-4K and I'm sure you've probably got more than that into the car.The C-bodies don't seem to bring any real money unless they are very clean or close to mint. You do have a fastop coupe,so that's a plus in my book, but nowadays it seems most people judge by looks and not by how much money you've invested in it,unless you find a diehard C-body lover!

Either way I don't need to sell it I love the car, no one has them too much anymore, so it's kind of nice to show up with a car no one else has most of the time, in the end I keep it if I don't like what people offer. It's a win win for me either way in my eyes.

Before we can give a guess, we need to know if you want real world or FCBO miser pricing. It makes a difference, not much but it still does. :icon_biggrin:

With the cost of thr car and everything else I'm in about 5500.

FCBO miser pricing has usually shown to be the real world in the past.
Trust Southeby's for art.
Trust us for C-bodies.

I don't expect to make what I have in it anyway I figured tgat before I bought it.

I'll say north of 2,500 and south of 5,200 depending where in the 50 states. California would be the 2,500 after many many months while the rust belt at the higher end for many months.

My philosophy on the value of modified cars is that you get no money back on the modifications. Unless you're talking about a lot of high-end custom handwork, you get the same for a modified car that you do for a stock car in the same condition.

What would a primer Newport with a rebuilt engine be worth?

Or much less depending on the mods

Wait a minute. I've seen c bodies advertised for demo derbies with prices approaching 1500 dollars. If the numbers you guys are throwing out there is reality then the only thing keeping these old beasts on the road is a love for the slab sides and a real desire to lose money.

Super old thread. Actually, it's approaching 4 years dead. But to respond...

For the love. These are pretty realistic prices, especially for 4 years ago. Remember, just because something is rare doesn't mean that it's valuable (monetarily speaking). If this was a 2 door 68' Impala in the same condition prices would be double.
