My 500 was originally equipped with disc brakes. The guy who had it before me took them off and replaced them with drums! Never worked!
I want to put disc brakes back on the car. I know the spindles are not the original, and I am not sure what they are off of.

What are my options?
I have been looking at kits, but I am not sure what I should be looking for.

Any help greatly appreciated.

discs to drums? Dont know why someone would do that...... Personally I like original cars, I'd find a set of discs and return the car to what it was. Much has to do with what your plans are for the car

I would like to restore as close to original as possible.
Is it still possible to find all the parts?(spindles, rotors and calipers?)

I am not versed on the 68's. There are places to purchase used parts when the new ones are not available. Depends on how deep you wanna go and again your intentions with the car. This could get expensive putting it back

I'd call ECI. That's where I bought my conversion kit & others here have as well.

Have we seen pictures of your car?

I have to ask.
How is the current system "not working".
Maybe they are the right parts and we can salvage this project for you.

No pictures yet.
I would prefer to put disc brakes back on the car so I really don't want to even think about saving the drum setup.

" Not Working" means a soft pedal which sometimes goes to the floor with no brake at all.
Have to pump several times then to get a brake.

so that could be something small, like not being bled correctly, or a leaky cylinder, correct?
